Great product! I use it when running, bike riding and at the gym. Several of the cardio machines at the gym pick up the signal from the band, so I dont have to grip the bars and wait for the machines to try to measure my HBM. Just wish it had a light and a button for laps on the stopwatch. For $25 it is well worth it though. Dont worry about the band, I always forget I am wearing it.

I bought this Nike C3 HRM about a week ago and so far it has worked perfect. I wanted a very basic HRM without all of the bells and whistles that most of them have. The chest strap is comfortable and the readings are very consistent.
If you are looking for heart rate ranges, percentages and alarms you should keep looking because this is not what you want. If you are looking at a basic HRM with a timer, watch and very large and easy to read heart beat monitor readings at a decent price then look no further. This unit has basically 3 features, watch mode, HRM and timer. I can easily read the display while riding my bike.
My wife has a Polar and it has all the neat features but the display is much smaller and when her battery went low it needed to be sent back to Polar for replacement.
The transmitter is detected by most of the health club equipment so if you wear the chest band your heart rate will be shown on the equipments display mode.

I bought this Nike C3 HRM because I needed a model that sends out an analog signal. My other HRM, a Timex, sends out a coded digital signal that can only be received by the Timex watch. The treadmill at the gym is unable to receive the digital signal. Now, a digital signal is less-likely to suffer from interference. But, it’s also not detected by most treadmills and other gym equipment.
The Nike C3 is a very basic HRM. It tells you the time and your heart rate. It has a chrono timer, and that’s it. No calorie counter included. And you cannot set your range. All it does is give you the time and your heart rate. But it is easily detected by most gym equipment. So, you would only need to bring the chest transmitter with you to the gym. Your heart rate will be displayed on the gym equipment’s face panel. The Woodway treadmills at the gym automatically pick up the signals from the Nike transmitter. I leave the watch at home.
I use Ultrasound gel on the sensors in the chest strap. I am a hygiene freak and cannot make myself use saliva to moisten the sensors on the chest strap. This method, using ultrasound gel on the sensors, have worked well for me. It worked well with the Timex and now it works well with the Nike. I have never had the sensors fail on me except when the batteries needed to be replaced.
This is an excellent basic monitor. If the only information you need is your heart rate, you need to look no further. More features usually mean a higher price. Also, most of your more expensive HRMs use digital transmission. Whichever HRM you choose, I recommend the use of ultrasound gel.

The stopwatch function is useless as it loses the second display after 1hr. Under 1hr, it has minutes and seconds, but not faction of seconds as in most other stop watch. It may work fine if you don’t run more than 1hr at a time and don’t do sprints on the track.

The heart monitor is very simple to use. It doesn’t store ranges but if you want to know what your heart rate is, then it works fine.
The retailer as not easy to work with at all. It took a month for me to receive my shipment. There was a shipping issue that I tried to resolve by email and after the first generic response email where I was asked to check with the post office, my subsequent emails were ignored.
I received my shipment 3 and half weeks after I complained about where it was.
